With the fall of the Berlin Wall, new open spaces developed in every respect. The "death strip" was revived immediately by nature and the people of Berlin, the "no man's land" was again there for everyone. A recreational area and natur reserve of 160 km was created on the city's outskirts. Today there is a cycle path along the service road of the border troops, it's there for everybody who wants to know "where the wall was", for all who want to get a feel how "life behind the wall" was and for everbody seeking a balance to the city.
